TOCSIN

sound sculpture

40 megaphones of different sizes and capacities are fixed on a aluminum grid made in a shape of a bell. All audio inputs are grouped together and connected to the single microphone. The microphone is hanging in the center of the bell just below the megaphones. Only a temporary de-energized system protects from the inevitable audio feedback.

As soon as the visitors will disturb the microphone from the suspended state, audio system turns automatically on and the deafening roar of multiple amplified feedback collapses on the bell-ringer.

This alarm doesn't alert any catastrophe coming. This alarm only generates its own permanent catastrophe.
